About Big Red
Mike is Managing Director of the Big Red Industries Group. Graduating the University of Huddersfield with a Business Degree, Mike moved on to work with world renowned companies – L’Oreal and Reckitt Benckiser. After gaining invaluable experience and learning the best processes, Mike started the Big Red Industries Group.
Mike firmly believes that Big Red should impact other people’s lives for the positive. This fundamental belief led to the creation of the Huddersfield Marathon Band. A marching band which raised over £125,000 for the UK deafblind charity Sense by completing two London Marathons and even picking up a Guinness World Record!
Looking to the future, Mike is excited about continuing to deliver fantastic projects for our growing client base.
Jim is the finance director for the Big Red Industries group. Jim attended St. Johns Grammar school and then moved on to study at Strathclyde University, Glasgow. Jim is a Fellow Chartered Management Accountant (FCMA).
After graduating University, Jim held posts as Financial and Commercial director in a few large PLC companies where he had full accountability for all finance and commercial activities including pricing and procurement. In 2003 Jim left his position and started his own company with fellow Big Red shareholder, Rob North. They later sold the company in 2006 and Jim remained commercial and finance director until 2014. When Jim is not involved in the financial dealings of Big Red he is spending his time either traveling the world or following his passions in; football, rugby league, golf and classic cars.
Lucy runs the Big Red finance department. She joins us from a large Bradford-based construction company. Her experience in the construction industry, coupled with her time spent managing finance departments in fast-paced companies made her the perfect fit for this role.
Since joining Big Red, Lucy has come to realise that people within the construction industry tend not to share her love for knowing where every single penny has come from, or gone to. She now has to rule finance with an iron fist, if you haven’t raised a PO or handed in your receipts, you’d better enter her office with a cup of tea!
Customer Service Liaison
Dennis joins Big Red as the Customer Service Liaison looking after all manner of admin and communication in order to keep customers informed and satisfied. With more than 30 years’ experience in back office procedures including purchasing, order processing, customer service and data analysis, Dennis arrives ready to help Big Red move forward in an ordered and structured format.
A keen runner with more than 35 marathons and a dozen ultras completed, Dennis is looking forward to the challenges and tasks encountered in the construction industry.
